My Journey Through AmplifyME: Becoming Industry-Ready in Finance

In May 2025, I completed the University Pathway – Explore Markets program with AmplifyME, a credential accredited by the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF). Alongside it, I also completed the Finance Accelerator earlier in March. These two programs gave me more than a certificate — they provided real, hands-on experience that brought the world of finance to life.

What Is AmplifyME?

AmplifyME partners with global financial institutions to offer simulation-based learning experiences that bridge the gap between university education and industry expectations. Their programs are used by leading firms like Morgan Stanley, UBS, and Bank of America to identify and train emerging talent.

University Pathway – Explore Markets (May 2025)

Certification

This LIBF-accredited program trained me across three core areas:

• Finance Accelerator Simulators: These simulations placed me directly into the roles of an investment banker with Morgan Stanley and an asset manager with UBS. I practiced making market-making decisions, managing portfolios, and responding to breaking financial news — all in real-time market environments.

• On-Demand Trading Simulations: I completed four self-paced simulations across key asset classes: equities, fixed income, foreign exchange (FX), and commodities. Each module tested my analytical skills, trading strategies, and decision-making under pressure.

• Finance Masterclasses: These expert-led sessions were focused on career preparation. They introduced the different career paths in finance — from investment banking and sales & trading to asset management — and provided insider advice on how to succeed in interviews and assessment centres.

Why This Was More Than Just a Certificate

These programs required me to act like a professional. I had to analyse real-time data, defend my investment decisions, and manage risk. I left with:

• A clearer understanding of the variety of careers in finance

• Greater confidence in high-pressure environments

• Practical skills that go beyond what traditional university lectures provide

Final Thoughts

Completing the AmplifyME University Pathway and Finance Accelerator was one of the most valuable steps I’ve taken toward becoming industry-ready. I now feel more informed, better prepared for interviews, and equipped with real-world experience in investment and asset management.
